Happy Leap Day/Year! Our amazing PTO provided little toy frogs to every student along with 100 more frogs that were hidden around the school. When students found, they turned them in for an icecream treat. Thank you ULPS PTO!

We would like to celebrate our January Spotlight Award winners. They have exhibited outstanding behavior and work ethic at our school. Mrs. Juanita Clay (Kindergarten teacher) and Mrs. Karla Hernandez (administrative assistant) both received a $10 Wal-Mart gift card and reserved parking for the month. Jesslyn Craft (kindergarten), Kendall Melvin (1st grade) and Lawson Taylor (2nd grade). All will receive a book of their choice and will paint a ceiling tile that will be displayed in our school hallway. Our Spotlight Award program is sponsored by Fletcher-Day Funeral Home.

This is National School Counseling Week, a week that focuses public attention on the unique contributions of school counselors within U.S. school systems and how students are different because of what school counselors do. National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. Join us this week in celebrating our wonderful school counselors at all TU schools and cheer them on as they help to prepare students for the challenges they face today and for the challenges they may face in the future!
