As Mr. Smith's AP Lang students prepare to read John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men, they were placed in groups and tasked with synthesizing sources on topics such as the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl, and migrant labor in the 1930s. Each group was asked to provide 4-5 different types of sources (i.e., articles, podcasts, videos, etc.) and then explain what those sources have to say about their topics. Upon finishing their research, each group will present their findings to the rest of the class.
Mrs. Norris’s AP U.S. History students spent the day at our local archives to research the history of schools in Upson County. From textbooks used in one-room schoolhouses to vintage yearbooks, they learned how schools have evolved over time!

Red Ribbon Week is an annual campaign that promotes drug awareness and prevention among students. Each year, schools across the country celebrate this week with fun activities, themed days, and educational programs designed to encourage healthy choices and a drug-free lifestyle.

On October 18th, members of the ULHS Chorus traveled to Milledgeville and participated in Choral Day at Georgia College & State University. Students were able to rehearse with GCSU music faculty, other high school students, and the Max Noah Singers. Students gave a performance of the selected music at the end of the day.
Mrs. Hardeman's Honors Advanced Algebra students are studying polynomial functions and their graphs. They are using technology to identify key features of the graph and analyze its behavior. Finally, students are tasked with sketching the graph and displaying all the key features for each type of polynomial function. This activity serves as an excellent review to help students prepare for their quiz and test later this week.
We have an important schedule change next week! Due to the PSAT, we will NOT have homeroom/clubs on Wednesday as usual. We are moving our Homeroom/Clubs to FRIDAY next week. The second image shows our club schedule and the times for each class period. Again, this will occur next Friday instead of the normal Wednesday!

The Upson-Lee Knight Theatre presents "The Girl in the White Pinafore" one act play TONIGHT and tomorrow at the ULHS Fine Arts Center! Each night, the play begins at 6:30pm! Adult tickets are $10 and students are $5. If you are a Thomaston-Upson County School employees get in free!
Tonight, the annual Title I Parent Meeting is scheduled for 4pm in the ULHS Media Center. Parent/Teacher conferences begin after the meeting at 4:30pm with teachers available until 6pm.
