Good afternoon,
Today, the implementation of our weapons detection system went smooth. There was no delay to the start of school, and our students did a great job with this new experience. We learned the following items will likely set the system off: metal eye glass cases, metal pencil cases, flashlights, umbrellas, and binders. You are welcome to remove any of these items from your student's bookbag if they are not needed. However, it is not a problem for students to have these things; they will need to have them in hand to give an adult before proceeding through the system. Our parents and guests did a great job today as well. One suggestion as we prepare for numerous visitors in the next few weeks is to consider leaving bags, purses, etc. in your vehicles so they are not subject to a search. If you are picking your child up early, attending a meeting or class party, you may want to only bring in your keys, phone, and photo I.D. These things will not set the system off. Thank you for your positivity with our safety measures! Have a great weekend!

⛳️ 🏃♀️⚾️ Attention 5th Grade Parents- please see the attachments about Sports Physicals and Sports Tryouts scheduled for next week⚽️🏈📣

Good afternoon,
Tomorrow we are implementing our new weapons detection system. All students and guests will be required to pass through it. In order to help us maintain the normal flow when entering the building, I am asking that all students hold their binder in their hands and have their bookbags on their backs. Please have your child take the binder out of their bookbag when they exit your vehicle if you drop them off. School personnel and bus drivers will instruct bus riders when they arrive at school. Thank you for your assistance!

💜💜We are family. So when one does well we all do well. Give this group of phenomenal athletes a hand for their hard work on the Fit GA fitness test. These students met one of these three 3 categories: over 60 curl ups (sit ups), 20 push ups boys/15 push ups girls, or over 50 on the pacer test for boys/ over 40 on the pacer test for girls. When we said UL is loaded, we mean LOADED with talent. We have 200 athletes who made the wall of champions. UL produces winners in the classroom, on the court, or in the field, but most of all in life. Parents Thank You! Together we are 1 Unit. 💜💜

Presenting the Citizenship Award Recipients for the 3rd Nine Weeks

Can we get two claps and a Rick Flair (Woooooo!) for these rising stars? Upson-Lee has been, is, and always will be a powerhouse of athletic talent. The Triple Crown is obtained by doing over 15 pushups (girls) 20 pushups (boys), over 60 sit ups, and on the 20m pacer test (roughly the length of a basketball court) over 40 for girls and 50 for the boys. We have just completed the Spring GA Fit test, and these young athletes shined bright and truly embodied what it means to be an Upson-Lee Knight.
Upson-Lee is truly one of the best in the state when it comes to producing not only outstanding athletes, but even better people. Thank you, parents, for pushing your kids to be the best in everything they do! Go UL 💜🖤
