Upson-Lee Primary Students Experience Agriculture Firsthand at Annual Farm Day
Students from Upson-Lee Primary School recently had the opportunity to explore the world of agriculture during the school’s annual Farm Day, held at the Upson-Lee Agricultural Facility.
Throughout the day, students rotated through eleven interactive stations designed to introduce them to various aspects of farming and the many products that come from it. Each station provided hands-on learning experiences and engaging demonstrations that helped bring agriculture to life.
Topics covered during Farm Day included corn production, gardening and plant care, sheep and goats, pigs, row crops, peanuts, and farm equipment, among others. The event offered students a well-rounded look at the diversity and importance of agriculture in everyday life.
The district extends a special thank you to the Upson County Farm Bureau, Upson County Extension, Green Thumb Gardening Club, middle and high school FFA members, and other community partners who helped make the day a success. Their support and willingness to share their knowledge created a meaningful and memorable experience for students.
Farm Day provides students with a valuable glimpse into agriculture—one of Georgia’s leading industries—and helps foster a greater appreciation for the role it plays in our community and beyond.
