Matthews Field has officially been selected as one of the venues to host the GHSA State Soccer Finals this May!
Recently, representatives from the Georgia High School Association visited Thomaston-Upson County Schools to tour Matthews Field and see firsthand the facility upgrades the district has completed. Following the visit, GHSA selected Matthews Field as one of just three locations in the state to host championship matches.
The 2026 GHSA State Soccer Finals will be hosted at:
• Mercer University
• Duluth High School
• Matthews Field – Thomaston-Upson County Schools
This is an incredible opportunity not only for our school system, but for the entire Thomaston-Upson community. Hosting a state championship event will bring teams, families, and fans from across Georgia to experience our facilities and our community.
More details about which classifications will compete at Matthews Field will be announced at a later date.
