The Thomaston-Upson Board of Education has officially begun the search for the district’s next Superintendent,
At its February 10 meeting, the Board voted to partner with Georgia Leadership Associates (GLA) to facilitate the search process. The position is being advertised statewide, with vacancy announcements distributed to all Georgia school districts and RESAs. The posting is also available on the Thomaston-Upson School System website, the Georgia School Superintendents Association website, and the GLA website.
Board Chair Jacqueline Hollis emphasized the importance of the hire and shared that the Board will seek input from staff, parents, and community members through surveys to help develop a leadership profile for the next Superintendent.
Timeline
Applications are being accepted through March 12, 2026. The Board anticipates completing the process and selecting the new Superintendent by May 2026 Thomaston-Upson School System. First-round interviews are expected to take place in late March or early April.
Search Process
Georgia Leadership Associates will manage the application process, conduct background research on candidates, and provide the Board with detailed applicant information. The Board will determine which candidates to interview and will make the final hiring decision.
