We are proud to recognize Mrs. Melanie Shearer, a world language teacher with Thomaston-Upson County Schools, for being selected as a member of the inaugural Rural FIELLDS Project cohort!
Mrs. Shearer is one of only five educators across the state of Georgia chosen to participate in this prestigious professional learning opportunity focused on strengthening student literacy through world language instruction. The Rural FIELLDS Project provides research-based training, virtual collaboration, and in-person learning designed to help teachers integrate purposeful reading, writing, and communication into their classrooms.
Through this year-long experience, Mrs. Shearer will gain new strategies and resources that will directly benefit her students and support Georgia’s literacy priorities. Her selection reflects her dedication to instructional excellence and her commitment to expanding learning opportunities for students.
Join us in congratulating Mrs. Shearer on this outstanding achievement and for representing Thomaston-Upson County Schools at the state level!
