Thomaston-Upson County Schools proudly announces that Ms. Stephanie Rogers, a veteran educator with 26 years of experience, has been appointed by Governor Brian Kemp to serve as a Commissioner on the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC).
Ms. Rogers was nominated by Dr. Jody Barrow, Executive Secretary of the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, and officially appointed by Governor Kemp for an initial term extending through October 8, 2028. She is scheduled to be sworn in at the State Capitol on Wednesday, November 19th at 11:00 a.m.
Throughout her distinguished career, Ms. Rogers has held various roles, including teaching Georgia Pre-K and Middle Grades Mathematics. She holds a Master’s Degree in Special Education and Mathematics from Walden University and has been a valued member of the Upson-Lee Middle School faculty for many years.
Reflecting on her appointment, Ms. Rogers shared,
“To serve as a GaPSC Commissioner is to stand at the intersection of passion and purpose — advocating for educators, protecting students, and ensuring that teaching in Georgia continues to be a calling rooted in excellence, ethics, and heart.”
